Irish Open Band Championships July 2002

Galway's very own St. Patrick's Band came out as champions at this years South of Ireland Open Band Championships in Clonakilty, Co. Cork, winning overall in their section, whilst competing against bands from all over Ireland.

And to top it off two band members were also awarded individual prizes for their performances at the prestigious event; Michael Dooley won best conductor and percussionist Terry Cooke was awarded best contributing musician.

The band immensely enjoyed performing at the championships and the players further enjoyed playing on the streets of Clonakilty, the picturesque west Cork town.
